On This Issue Middle Eastern Dictators Have it Right

By Jonathan Simeone

Recently, Syria became the latest in a long line of Middle Eastern nations to ban smoking in public. The decree, announced by Syria’s dictatorship government, will take affect in six months. When it is implemented smoking will be restricted to homes and the outdoors.

You see, sometimes dictatorships can work. In Syria, the government does have to let the objections of those who care more about killing themselves than they do the lives of those around them interfere with sound public policy.

By the way, if you read the article you will notice that Syria’s dictator was educated in Great Britain. If the West is so evil why do all of these dictators send their children to the West to get educated?
